Shifting our perspectives.

Back in the days, when we were much younger, there was free flow, plenty of encouragement given from the people around us to aid us to take our first baby step or to even overcome obstacles when we hit rock bottom. Praises were given freely and contingently when we did great and in return boosted our confidence.

Never did we realize how lucky we were then. Somewhere along the way as we grew older, the praises and encouragements reduced drastically. People tend to hesitate in voicing out their compliments. People around us expect us to differentiate right and wrong. Bear the responsibilities of what we have done wrong and pat our own backs when we did great and making sure we keep up to our standards. Assuming there’s a cut off the timeline for anything physical or emotional as a form of support. That we all have grown out of the phase of needing praises and encouragements. Gradually we all learn to shut ourselves up. Made me wonder did we all take all the goodness for granted?

Yes, self-love plays a huge part. We really don’t need affirmation from others to know our self-worth but isn’t it awesomely great when we are being recognized? It’s like an extra booster. It’s like an extra topping to our regular sundae treat. Growing up, moving on to different stages in life wouldn’t be problematic if there are supportive people around to cheer you on. It helps to shift all your negative thoughts and doubts into a colorful rainbow, making a bridge to your solutions. So let’s not hesitate, it isn’t difficult to start praising, complimenting and encouraging people around us. Be grateful that you exist and are doing well. If we yearn for all things positive, why not let it starts with us first. Start small by thanking the cleaners for making the office more liveable and such a clean space to work in. Compliment the barista for the wonderful soul waking coffee. The smiles you received is the key to your positivity and happiness.

Monkey see monkey do. Let’s set this practice straight with our children, the future generation. I believed in every child, there are an angel and a devil. If we seek out the angel and naturally the best qualities will be seen. Appreciation is a powerful force, to measure the density of the force starts with a simple word or action or even a simple gesture. You never know how you have impacted others and in return passing the actions down.

Remember this will shift your perspectives, churning you in with tones of positivity you ever imagined.
